As a highly-renowned music school, Westminster Conservatory offers every student many opportunities for performance during the year. In addition, the Suzuki violin program offers more concerts than students ordinarily get. The Suzuki violin concerts offer both group and solo performances. The Suzuki violin faculty will make sure that every student gets one solo performance every year. The group portion of each Suzuki concert is mandatory for every student. The opportunities for all students at Westminster, which include the student recitals and the scholarship competition, are by teacher recommendation. It is my responsibility to select students that I feel are ready to show themselves to the entire Conservatory. If you are curious as to why some students are chosen and not others, please ask me; I will be happy to explain the basis of my decisions. I am considering all students carefully for these events. Also, see the page on optional student performances vs. mandatory ones. There are also opportunities to perform with the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association, of which I am an active board member. These events are in Pennsylvania, but my students are welcome to participate in all of them.
