|
The Suzuki Association of the Americas is the North American branch of the International Suzuki Association (ISA), which is based in Japan. The SAA serves not only the United States, but Canada, Mexico, and other Central American countries. The SAA has many functions, the two primary ones being networking among teachers, parents and students, and holding workshops and institutes. All of the summer institutes, usually held at college campuses around the country, are mandated by the SAA. The official publication of the SAA is The American Suzuki Journal, which is an endlessly valuable resource for both teachers and parents of Suzuki students. The articles range between topics such as practice advice, teaching philosophies, motivation, musical culture, and news about national and international Suzuki events, and they're written by teachers, parents, and even occasionally students. Anyone who wants to get their hands on it, please let me know. To receive The American Suzuki Journal, you have to become a member of the SAA. The benefits also include lots of discounts for things.
