How do I get to play in more concerts?

There are some concerts that all students are required to attend, and everybody gets the same number of those every year. However, there are also additional concerts that I may nominate students to participate in. Westminster Conservatory and CMS both have school-wide student recitals every month, and all of my students may participate in GPSA events no matter where they take lessons. If you're interested in playing in additional concerts, please keep the following in mind.

I nominate students to play in additional concerts when I think they are prepared and motivated. When I'm deciding who to nominate for a concert, I look at my list of students and choose the ones who I think will do the best job, and who needs the opportunity the most. I try to make sure that all of my students get a chance to have these opportunities, but I will not select anyone that I think will make mistakes. Therefore, if you want to be considered for these concerts, you have to show me throughout the year that you are a student who practices well and takes violin lessons seriously. You must practice well and practice consistently, so that I can see you're capable of good concert preparation.

If there is a concert you'd like to be considered for, please ask me, and I'll be open and honest about my decision.
